As mobility is increasingly shifting towards private motorised transport, the road in all its forms - from access roads to motorways - constitutes the most important element of a modern traffic and transport system.
Today, the design and construction of roads not only requires expert qualification but also special environmental awareness, and as such constitutes an essential prerequisite for the feasibility of road and motorway projects. Adhering to this principle, YASCE and the ILF Group have rendered design and consulting services for many successful road construction projects in the past years. We ensure overall project success by integrating qualified experts, available mostly in-house, into the design team. Other focal points of road projects are the organisation and conduct of public relations activities that ILF carries out together with experienced professionals after contract award.
YASCE and the ILF Group scope of services includes: Motorways, Trunk roads, Urban roads, Access points, Roundabouts, Crossings, Toll systems, Traffic management systems
NAME OF CLIENT
Autonomous Province of Bozen-South Tyrol
Complete design and consulting services for all design phases, as well as construction supervision of two-lane bypass road with several grade-separated interchanges.
Three full junctions will be constructed; the Pfarrhof junction will be entirely underground. In order to have grade-separated junctions, several bridges and underpasses will be necessary. ILF won the European design competition for this project especially because of the proposed junctions. The works on the construction lots 2+2a already started in 2000; these sections went into operation in 2005. The construction lot 1 will be finalised in 2011. The project encompasses a bypass road with a length of approx. 9 km, 6 junctions, underground turnout caverns, 3 tunnels: 5 km mined tunnels, 1 km cut-and-cover tunnels, several bridges (L max.= 220 m), various open-cut structures and slope stabilisation measures.

Preparation of basic and detailed design for Demir Kapija - Smokvica motorway section of Pan-European corridor 10, as part of national road M-1 (E-75) including topographical survey, geological mapping and geotechnical investigation program including lab tests and evaluation, geotechnical design, electromechanical design, ventilation study, tunnel safety concept, road signage and safety installation design, expropriation design, environmental design.
The project is the new construction of the national motorway M1 (E75) in the Demir Kapija – Smokvica section as a 2-lane dual carriageway. When finished, it will be a part of the European Corridor 10 that will connect Greece (port of Thessaloniki) with Central Europe (Salzburg, Budapest) through the Balkans. The project runs through environmentally sensitive areas and therefore was subject to a thorough environmental evaluation and route selection procedure.
